Lots of pit bulls and chihuahua mixes there. Our vet didn't have a bordatella vaccine until about a year after we got him, so I don't know if that's a normally given vaccine? Do shelters usually vaccinate all the dogs when they get them in? I don't know how well they manage disease control. He had kennel cough that he got while he was there, and we found one tick on him (wasn't feeding, was just on him.) We took care of his kennel cough, but that's honestly a worry to have about getting a dog there. (We're getting him one this year at the vet, hopefully.) They gave us a discount at a vet to have him looked at, and offered a chip implant, but we declined. We don't have cats, so we were fine with taking him home. He had been returned because he was aggressive around the lady's cats. We came back later in the week and found our chill little man. We had to go twice though, because the first time I kind of had a breakdown and had to leave after seeing all the dogs.
